Fyti Weaving Festival in Fyti
Fyti, the Paphos district's main weaving centre and namesake of the Fythkiotiko textile, holds a two-day Weaving Festival each October, ten in the morning until ten at night, across the village square and Cultural Building. Visitors watch live weaving demonstrations, tour the Weaving Museum, sample traditional foods including resi and loukoumades, and can visit an oak tree over eight hundred years old near the village.
An oak tree more than eight hundred years old, standing near the Akrikous spring with views set up for sunset, gives visitors staying through the full two-day Fyti Weaving Festival a natural landmark to visit alongside the village's core textile programming, itself centred on Fythkiotiko, the specific woven textile that takes its name directly from Fyti, the main weaving centre of the Paphos district.
