Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

Karlovy Vary's summer film festival has awarded its top Crystal Globe prize since 1948, two years after the event began in 1946, and has held FIAPF Category A status since 1956, placing it alongside Cannes, Venice and Berlin. Set in a compact spa town built around thermal springs, the roughly week-long festival mixes public screenings with an industry hub centred on the Grandhotel Pupp.
