Anifilm Liberec in Liberec
Anifilm traces back to 2002 as AniFest in Trebon, went through an organisational split between 2010 and 2013, and re-formed as a single event before relocating to Liberec in 2020. Its top short-film prize carries Oscar-qualifying status, a distinction held by only a handful of animation festivals worldwide, and winning Czech entries also qualify for the European Animation Awards.
Anifilm's roots trace to 2002, when the Czech Republic's animated film festival began under the name AniFest in the South Bohemian spa town of Trebon, becoming a fully international competitive event the following year.
