Book World Prague in Prague

Book World Prague, or Svet knihy, marked its thirtieth anniversary in 2025, tracing its founding to around 1995 under the Association of Czech Booksellers and Publishers. Now the largest book and literature event in the Czech Republic, it draws more than fifty thousand visitors and over four hundred exhibitors across roughly four thousand square metres, with close to eight hundred participating writers and guests from more than thirty countries.

Book World Prague, known in Czech as Svet knihy, marked its thirtieth anniversary with its 2025 edition, placing its founding around 1995 as an initiative of the Association of Czech Booksellers and Publishers, operating through the dedicated company Svet knihy Ltd rather than a government cultural body.
