Prague Microfestival in Prague
Prague Microfestival grew out of the 2004 Prague International Poetry Festival, which drew more than forty writers from over twenty countries, and has run for close to two decades since. Focused on writing and poetry pushed beyond conventional forms, with past themes including visual writing, phonic poetry and intermedia work, the festival positions itself as a multilingual space for critical cultural dialogue rather than a standard poetry reading series.
Prague Microfestival was conceived as the direct successor to the Prague International Poetry Festival, an earlier 2004 event that welcomed readings from more than forty writers representing more than twenty countries, giving the Microfestival a genuine literary predecessor rather than starting from an entirely blank slate.
