Prague Pride in Prague
Prague Pride has run annually since its first, contested parade in August 2011, growing into one of Central Europe's most prominent LGBTQ+ festivals with more than a hundred events each year beyond the parade itself. Recent parades have drawn crowds of around forty-five thousand, with the post-parade gathering moving from its long-time home on Letna Plain to the shadier Stvanice Island from 2026.
Prague Pride's first parade in August 2011 drew vocal opposition from conservative groups, a reception that has softened considerably in the years since as the event has become one of Central Europe's most prominent LGBTQ+ gatherings.
