Festival Les Masques Parlent in Lemba/Kinshasa
Les Masques Parlent (The Masks Speak) launched its first edition in Kinshasa's Lemba district from 13 to 15 December 2024, organized by the collective By Inspire at the Mudiji Centre. Named for the legacy of Abbe Theodore Mudiji, the festival was built to put Congolese traditional masks in front of a broader, younger audience through exhibitions, performances, workshops and academic talks rather than treating them purely as museum objects.
Les Masques Parlent opened as a brand-new event in December 2024, staged over three days at the Mudiji Centre in Kinshasa's Lemba district.
