SPOT Festival in Aarhus
SPOT Festival has run in Aarhus since 1994, organised by ROSA, the Danish Rock Council, with an explicit mission to introduce new Danish and Nordic acts to the international music industry. Artists including the Raveonettes, Mew, MO and Efterklang used SPOT to launch international careers, and the festival's May programme still leans toward emerging names over established headliners, staged across multiple central Aarhus venues.
The Raveonettes, Mew, MO and Efterklang all used SPOT Festival at some point to launch their international careers, a track record that has made this Aarhus showcase event one of Northern Europe's most consequential festivals for new Danish and Nordic music since it began as a local initiative in 1994.
