Syd for Solen is an independent Copenhagen music festival held each mid-August in Valbyparken, a public park on the city's western edge. Built on a tightly curated lineup of indie, pop, punk, electronic and alternative acts rather than broad commercial booking, it has grown quickly into one of the city's most closely followed word-of-mouth festivals.
Syd for Solen, meaning south of the sun, began as a small independent festival in Copenhagen and within a few years had grown into one of the most closely watched word-of-mouth events on the city's summer calendar.
