Frederikssund Viking Plays has staged an outdoor Viking-themed drama every summer since 1952 at Kalvoen, a fjordside headland that remains the production's stage to this day. Around four hundred volunteers of all ages, none professional actors, take part each year, having built Frederikssund's identity as Denmark's Viking town.
