The story

Master of the Ocean in Cabarete

Master of the Ocean, founded in 2003 near Cabarete, is the world's only event where athletes compete across five water disciplines, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP and wingfoiling, at Playa Encuentro's glassy morning waves and consistent afternoon winds, crowning an overall champion from the best combined result across four of the five sports.

Master of the Ocean, founded in 2003 by German ocean-sports enthusiast Marcus Bohm, is the only event in the world where athletes compete across five water disciplines over the same tropical wind and waves: surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and wingfoiling.

02

The mystery stays covered

The individual title rewards multi-sport versatility across four of five disciplines, while a separate five-rider team format lets specialists compete without needing to master every discipline themselves, a structurally distinctive design drawing internationally recognized professional athletes to this stretch of coastline
