Festival Internacional de Artes Vivas Loja in Loja
An eleven-day living-arts festival that fills Loja's plazas, theaters and streets each November with theater, dance, circus and music from dozens of visiting countries alongside Ecuadorian companies. Institutionalized by national decree in 2018, it leans on Loja's reputation as Ecuador's musical capital, mixing free open-air performances with ticketed shows across multiple simultaneous venues in the city center.
A National Assembly decree in 2018 gave Festival Internacional de Artes Vivas Loja a permanent place on the November calendar, formalizing an event the municipality had launched only two years earlier.
