Alexandria International Book Fair in Alexandria
Alexandria International Book Fair, launched in 2004 under the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, runs each July inside and around the library's distinctive modern building on Alexandria's Mediterranean coast. Publisher stands, author talks and signings unfold at a more regional scale than Cairo's larger January book fair, pairing book browsing with the library's museums and collections.
Alexandria International Book Fair launched in 2004 under the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the modern library built to evoke the ancient Library of Alexandria on roughly the same stretch of Mediterranean coastline, giving the fair an institutional home with a symbolic weight few other Egyptian book fairs can claim.
