Cairo Photo Week is the flagship festival of Photopia, a Cairo photography hub founded in 2012, held each May across Downtown Cairo with a fresh curatorial theme every edition. It combines exhibition halls of curated print work with workshops, talks and a street photography component that sends participants shooting through Downtown Cairo's own streets.

Cairo Photo Week grew out of Photopia, a photography hub founded in 2012 by two photography enthusiasts to give Cairo's growing community of image-makers a permanent home rather than relying on scattered one-off events.
