Cairotronica in Cairo
Cairotronica, founded in 2016 by artist and academic Haytham Nawar, is Cairo's biennial festival dedicated to electronic and new media art, run with Egypt's Ministry of Culture and the American University in Cairo. Programming spans algorithmic art, digital performance, generative design and interactive media, with each edition centered on its own curatorial theme.
Cairotronica began in 2016 as the Cairo Electronic and New Media Arts Festival, founded by academic and artist Haytham Nawar to give Egypt a dedicated platform for electronic and new media art forms that existing Cairo festivals rarely programmed in depth.
