Turathna Heritage Exhibition in Cairo
Turathna Exhibition is Egypt's largest annual showcase of handicrafts and traditional industries, organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency and drawing artisans from across the country, especially Upper Egypt and Sinai. Free admission and direct-from-artisan sales of rugs, pottery, embroidery and jewelry make it as much a marketplace as a cultural showcase.
Turathna Exhibition has grown into Egypt's largest annual showcase of handicrafts and traditional industries, organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency to give artisans working in traditional crafts a direct route to buyers rather than relying solely on informal local markets.
