Fiestas Patronales de Chalatenango in Chalatenango
The city of Chalatenango, capital of its namesake department, honors San Juan Bautista as its patron with celebrations centered on June 23 and 24 in the Casco Urbano. Individual barrios add their own feasts through the year, including San Antonio de Padua, the Virgen de la Paz, and a distinct Carnaval Chileno at year's end.
