Fiestas Patronales de Comasagua in Comasagua
Comasagua, a highland district in La Libertad department along the Cordillera del Balsamo, holds its fiestas patronales in September in honor of San Mateo, in a coffee-growing town surrounded by working fincas and scenic hillside miradores that look out over the city of Santa Tecla below.
Comasagua sits at roughly 1,070 meters above sea level within the Cordillera del Balsamo, the mountain range running through La Libertad department that gave this stretch of El Salvador its historic identity as a balsam-producing region.
