Fiestas Patronales de Conchagua in Conchagua
Conchagua, in La Union department, holds two annual feasts: a titular celebration for San Sebastian Martir from January 16 to 20, and its main patronal feast for Santiago Apostol from July 20 to 25, followed on July 26 by the Guancasco, a Lenca ceremonial exchange honoring Santa Ana de Teca. Its parish church, built in 1693, is considered the oldest in El Salvador.
Conchagua occupies a striking position in La Union department, its town spread across the slopes of the volcano that shares its name, overlooking the Golfo de Fonseca.
