Fiestas Patronales de La Libertad in La Libertad
The Pacific port town of La Libertad celebrates its fiestas patronales in honor of the Inmaculada Concepcion, opening religiously on November 30 and civilly on December 1, running through December 8. Recent years have built the closing carnival into the second-largest street carnival in El Salvador, trailing only San Miguel's.
La Libertad has always lived by the sea, and its patronal week reflects that in ways few other Salvadoran towns can match.
