Fiestas Patronales de Tepecoyo in Tepecoyo
Tepecoyo, a district in La Libertad department along the Cordillera del Balsamo, holds its fiestas patronales in January in honor of San Esteban Martir, in a small highland town historically known for balsam-based products and coffee cultivation across its ten rural cantones and twenty-one caserios.
Tepecoyo's roots reach back to a pre-Columbian Pipil settlement, with historical records suggesting roughly 550 people lived in the area by around 1550.
