Kikumu International Cultural Festival in Janeda
Held each July at the historic Janeda manor estate in Laane-Viru county, Kikumu combines dedicated film, art and music programs, its name a portmanteau of the Estonian words for cinema, art and music, with the film program curated by Kino Sopruse, Estonia's oldest independent cinema, inside a 1975 architectural landmark and a 1915 manor house.
Kikumu takes its name from a portmanteau of three Estonian words, kino for cinema, kunst for art and muusika for music, and the festival's structure follows directly from that name, running dedicated film, art and music programs side by side rather than treating one discipline as the main event and the others as decoration.
