Nasinu Carnival began as an initiative of the Nasinu branch of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Jaycees, following a civic fundraising and community-building model similar to other Fiji town carnivals founded by the same national Jaycees network, and is typically held around late August into early September in Valelevu, a suburb along the Nasinu corridor between Suva and the wider urban area.
