Flow Festival Helsinki in Helsinki
Flow Festival began in 2004 in Helsinki's old railway warehouses and has been staged since 2007 at Suvilahti, a former power plant whose industrial architecture gives it a distinct visual identity. Held each August, it has grown from a jazz and soul lineup into a broad international festival mixing major pop and electronic acts with visual art and design.
Flow Festival began in 2004 as a two-night indoor event inside Helsinki's since-demolished VR railway warehouses, organized by the music collective Nuspirit Helsinki and holding roughly two thousand people for a lineup weighted toward jazz and soul rather than the broad, headline-driven programming the festival is known for today.
