Founded in 2021 as the first short-film festival of its kind in Georgia, this festival pairs an international short-film competition with a mountain-themed feature film strand, staged in the Svaneti highland town of Mestia against a backdrop of medieval defensive stone towers. A Georgian short-film retrospective and special thematic section round out its four-part program.

Mestia sits at around 1,500 meters in the Svaneti highlands, a town of medieval defensive towers that became, in 2021, home to the first festival of its kind in Georgia: a competition built entirely around short films and mountain-themed feature films.
