International Andros Festival in Andros
An annual summer arts festival in Chora, Andros, founded in 2015 under the artistic direction of director Pantelis Voulgaris, staging theatre, classical and contemporary concerts and dance performances at a purpose-built 870-seat open-air theatre from late July into late August. Volunteers run much of the non-profit operation.
An eight hundred seventy capacity open-air theatre in Chora, Andros's main town, gives the International Andros Festival a genuine architectural centrepiece rather than a temporary stage, and the festival has used that venue every summer since its 2015 founding under the artistic direction of the acclaimed Greek director and screenwriter Pantelis Voulgaris.
