Athens International Film Festival in Athens

Founded in 1995 by the Athens Film Society, this festival opens each new Athens movie season with an International Competition for the Golden Athena, a Greek short film competition, an After Hours strand of genre and horror cinema, and director retrospectives, drawing an audience of roughly sixty thousand.
