The story

Sani Festival in Kassandra

Sani Festival has run every summer since 1992 on Sani Hill within Sani Resort on the Kassandra peninsula, making it Greece's longest-running privately organized festival. What began as three nights of jazz has grown into a month-long mix of jazz, pop, rock, classical and indie acts, staged as the country's first carbon-neutral, renewable-powered music festival.

Sani Festival began in 1992 with three nights of jazz on a hillside inside a private beach resort, an origin that makes it, by most counts, the longest continuously running privately organized festival in Greece.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Sani's operating model is what sets it apart: run privately by the founders of Sani Resort rather than a municipality or state cultural body, it has continued uninterrupted since 1992, longer than any other privately organized Greek festival

02

The mystery stays covered

It has also built itself around Greece's first carbon-neutral, fully renewable-powered festival operation, certified to the ISO 20121 sustainable event management standard, a distinction few larger commercial festivals elsewhere in Greece have matched

03

The city starts moving

Spanning roughly a month each summer rather than a single weekend, it also crosses more musical genres within one programme, from its founding jazz roots through pop, rock, classical and indie
