Carriacou Carnival Kayak Mas

Carriacou runs its own distinct February carnival, collectively called Kayak Mas, with a compressed week of semi-final music competitions, a kiddies carnival, queen show and soca monarch final building to J'ouvert and a closing band parade. Smaller and more community-organised than Grenada's mainland Spicemas, the island's carnival keeps its own separate calendar, venues and specific local traditions.

Carriacou, Grenada's smaller sister island, runs its own distinct carnival season each February under the collective name Kayak Mas, a full week of competitions, parades and community events that culminates in the same J'ouvert-to-parade structure as Grenada's mainland Spicemas but on a smaller island with its own separate organising calendar and traditions.
