Children's Mashramani in Georgetown
Georgetown holds a separate Children's Mashramani road parade in the days before the adult Republic Day celebrations, giving schools their own costume parade and competitions in dramatic poetry, calypso, dance, and masquerade. Thousands of students typically march. It is organized with Guyana's Ministry of Education and draws its own dedicated news coverage each year, distinct from the 23 February adult parade.
