Hong Kong French Film Festival in Hong Kong cinemas

Founded in 1953 by Alliance Française de Hong Kong with a screening of Jacques Tati's Monsieur Hulot's Holiday, this is the oldest film festival in Hong Kong and one of Asia's longest-running. It now moves annually across the city's cinemas each November and December, mixing new French releases with retrospectives and Francophone cinema.

The Hong Kong French Film Festival began in 1953, when Alliance Française de Hong Kong organised a screening of Jacques Tati's comedy Monsieur Hulot's Holiday at the Queen's Theatre, making it the oldest film festival in Hong Kong and one of the oldest continuously held film festivals in Asia.
