The story

O.Z.O.R.A. Festival in Dadepuszta/Ozora

A seven-to-eight-day psychedelic trance gathering on a Tolna county farm estate, running since 2004 out of a 1999 solar-eclipse event, built around DIY camps, communal kitchens, and attendee-built art installations rather than a fixed top-down program. Many participants return to the same camp locations across multiple editions, building an informal community that persists from year to year.

A one-off gathering called Solipse drew around twenty thousand people to a farm estate near the village of Ozora for the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999, and the site's organizers liked the result enough to build an annual event around it.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The festival grew directly from a one-off 1999 solar eclipse gathering at the same site, and its defining feature is attendee self-organization: themed camps, kitchens, and performance spaces are built by participants rather than provided by organizers

02

The mystery stays covered

Regulars often return to the same patch of field and the same informal neighbors year after year, giving the sprawling multi-day gathering a continuity of community that distinguishes it from more commercially produced electronic music festivals elsewhere in Europe
