Eger Street Music Festival in Eger
Eger's Utcazenészek Versenye, or Street Musicians' Competition, runs five days each June through the cobblestone streets around Dobó Square. Folk, jazz, and other performers compete at fixed pitches around the old town, judged both by a professional jury and by the public, who vote using custom-minted LIKE coins dropped at each performer's collection point.
Eger's historic downtown, centered on Dobó Square, hosts a five-day street music competition each June officially known as the Utcazenészek Versenye, or Street Musicians' Competition, distinguishing it from a simple performance festival by structuring the entire event around public judging.
