Seydisfjordur Arts Festival in Seydisfjordur

LungA Art Festival ran in Seydisfjordur every July from 2000 to 2024, founded by then-teenager Bjort Sigfinnsdottir as a youth arts festival for a remote east fjords town. A week of workshops and lectures led into a closing weekend of exhibitions and concerts, and the festival's model spawned the independent LungA School in 2013 before it concluded after its 25th edition.

Seydisfjordur's LungA Art Festival began in 2000 when Bjort Sigfinnsdottir, then a 15-year-old resident of the town, organized it with friends to bring art and cultural programming to young people in a remote east fjords community with little access to either.
