Kochi-Muziris Biennale in Kochi
Founded in 2010 by artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale opened its first edition on December 12, 2012, centered on Aspinwall House and other converted colonial-era warehouses in Fort Kochi. Conceived as biennial, its actual schedule has drifted, with the fifth edition delayed past 2020 by the pandemic and Kerala floods, and the pattern of two-year gaps has not always held since.
The Kochi-Muziris Biennale was founded in 2010 by artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu under the nonprofit Kochi Biennale Foundation, and its inaugural edition opened on December 12, 2012, running through the following March.
