Rann Utsav in Kutch
Gujarat Tourism's Rann Utsav turns the White Rann of Kutch, a salt desert near the Pakistan border, into a seasonal tent city each winter, running for several months rather than a single date. Full moon nights are the main draw, when moonlight turns the flat white expanse silver, alongside Kutchi folk music, Rabari crafts, and desert safaris out of Dhordo village.
The White Rann of Kutch is a vast bed of dried salt marsh stretching toward the border with Pakistan, and for roughly three to four months each cold season Gujarat Tourism converts its edge, at the village of Dhordo, into a purpose-built tent city.
