Phoolon Wali Holi Vrindavan in Vrindavan
Two days before Holika Dahan, Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan holds a fifteen-minute ritual where priests shower marigold and rose petals from the balconies onto the crowd in the courtyard below. Unlike the powder and water play found elsewhere in Braj, Phoolon Wali Holi uses only flower petals, reenacting the legend of Radha and Krishna scattering blossoms on each other in the forest groves of Vrindavan.
Two days before Holika Dahan, the priests of Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan step onto the temple's inner balconies and release armfuls of marigold and rose petals onto the pilgrims massed below in the courtyard.
