BaliSpirit Festival in Ubud
BaliSpirit Festival, founded in 2008 by Dek Gunarta, Rob Weber, and Meg Pappenheim during Bali's post-bombing tourism recovery, is now one of the largest yoga and world-music festivals globally, drawing more than seven thousand attendees to Ubud each April. Days combine yoga, dance, and martial-arts workshops with evening concerts spanning global musical styles.
Three co-founders, Dek Gunarta, Rob Weber, and Meg Pappenheim, put together the first BaliSpirit Festival in 2008 in only around three months, launching it while Bali's tourism industry was still recovering from the bombings of 2002 and 2005.
