Mashhad Imam Reza Festival in Mashhad
The birth anniversary of Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam, observed at his shrine in Mashhad as the culmination of the Ten Days of Dignity (Dahe-ye Karamat). Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza, the eighth Imam of Twelver Shia Islam, was born on the 11th of Dhu al-Qa'dah, a date that falls at the close of a ten-day observance known as Dahe-ye Karamat, the Ten Days of Dignity, which opens with the birth anniversary of his sister Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh and culminates in his own.
