Saadi Day is Iran's annual commemoration of the medieval Persian poet Saadi Shirazi, held each year on the first of Ordibehesht, the day he stated he completed his masterwork the Gulistan in 1256. Iranians and foreign visitors gather at his mausoleum, known as Saadieh, in Shiraz to mark the occasion with recitation, reflection, and tribute to one of Persian literature's most enduring voices.
