Iraq Short Film Festival in Baghdad
Established in 2005 and organized by the Iraqi Association for Visual Arts, this Baghdad festival is a competitive showcase for short-format films. Its 2011 edition, held after a six-year hiatus due to insecurity, screened entries from 28 countries and was explicitly framed by organizers as proof that Iraqi cinema and culture had survived years of conflict.
The Iraq Short Film Festival was established in 2005 and is organized by the independent Iraqi Association for Visual Arts, giving it one of the longer institutional track records among Baghdad's film events and its own dedicated Wikipedia entry documenting its history.
