Sabian-Mandaean Culture Day in Baghdad/Amarah
Iraq's small Sabian Mandaean community, centered on the Mandi temple in Baghdad, is best documented through its Parwanaya Feast of Creation and baptism rituals each March; a separately named, non-ritual Sabian Mandaean Culture Day focused on general cultural awareness could not be clearly confirmed as distinct from that observance.
The Sabian Mandaean community in Iraq, estimated today at under five thousand people after mass displacement following 2003, maintains its main religious and administrative center at the Sabian-Mandaean Mandi of Baghdad, a temple on the Tigris riverbank in the Al-Qadisiyah neighborhood.
