Duhok's Newroz is spread across three peaks, Kelya Shada, Kelya Fareni, and Zawa Mountain, where residents climb to light bonfires, plus Newroz Park in the main bazaar for those who stay in the city. Distinct from Akre's citadel torch procession within the same governorate, it centers on family tent-picnics and Hesen Zirek folk songs.
