Babylon International Animation Film Festival in Hillah/Babylon
A short-animation competition festival held in Hillah near the ancient site of Babylon, screening entries of ten minutes or less produced within the prior three years. Organized by the Babylon Film Institute with support from Iraq's Ministry of Culture and the French Institute of Iraq, it runs a juried competition across three categories and has drawn Arab and international entries since its founding around 2018.
The Babylon International Animation Film Festival requires entries to run no more than ten minutes and to have been produced within the previous three years, a rule that keeps its competition focused on recent, tightly-made short animation rather than feature-length work.
