Lalish Pilgrimage Festival in Lalish
A seven-day Yazidi pilgrimage held each October at the Lalish temple complex in Duhok's Sheikhan district, honoring Sheikh Adi ibn Musafir. Pilgrims perform ritual washing and greeting ceremonies at the site's sacred springs, hear qewls recited, and take part in processions, communal meals, and markets.
Each autumn, Yazidis from Iraq and the diaspora travel to the Lalish temple complex in Duhok province's Sheikhan district for Cejna Cemaiye, the Feast of the Assembly, a seven-day pilgrimage gathering held from the sixth to the thirteenth of October in honor of Sheikh Adi ibn Musafir, the medieval religious reformer whose tomb anchors the site.
