Baltimore Fiddle Fair in Baltimore
A four-day May traditional and folk music festival in the West Cork fishing village of Baltimore, founded in 1992 following a chance visit by violinist Nigel Kennedy, staging concerts across venues including St Matthew's Church, Dún na Séad Castle, and musical boat trips, run independently of the Bantry-based West Cork Music festivals.
A chance visit by violinist Nigel Kennedy to West Cork is credited with sparking the founding of this festival in 1992, in the small fishing village of Baltimore, and the event now runs each May across a four-day programme of gigs, master classes, workshops, and concerts spread across an unusually varied set of small venues.
