Baboro International Arts Festival for Children in Galway
Founded in 1996 as Ireland's first children's arts festival, Baboro runs every October in Galway during the school mid-term break, staging theatre, puppetry, dance and circus made specifically for young audiences rather than adapted adult work. Age-banded programming runs from toddler-friendly sensory work through to shows for teenagers, alongside a schools matinee strand serving class groups from across the county.
Baboro was set up in 1996 as Ireland's first festival dedicated entirely to children's arts, and it still runs every October in Galway, timed to the mid-term school break so families and school groups can attend together.
