Cuirt International Festival of Literature in Galway
Cuirt International Festival of Literature has run every April in Galway since 1986, hosted by the Galway Arts Centre. It centres on in-conversation readings with international and Irish writers, poets and novelists, using the Town Hall Theatre and Arts Centre as anchor venues across the compact city.
Cuirt takes its name from the Irish word for court, a nod to the bardic courts of poetry that once moved between Gaelic households, and Galway's version of that tradition has run every April since 1986 under the wing of the Galway Arts Centre.
