Winterval Waterford in Waterford
A Christmas festival across Waterford's historic Viking Triangle, created by the city council in 2012 and running from mid-November through early January, featuring an ice rink, a Christmas market, a Santa's grotto staged inside the Medieval Museum's underground caverns, and a Ferris wheel, with a projection-mapping lightshow, Ferris wheel, and vintage carousel supplementing the market, ice rink, and Santa's grotto.
Waterford City and County Council created this Christmas festival in 2012, branding it as Ireland's Christmas Festival and positioning the city as a European City of Christmas, and it now runs from mid-November through early January, considerably longer than most single-weekend Irish festivals covered in this batch.
