Confetti Carnival in Castletown
Castletown's long-running summer carnival, tracing back to a market-square fundraiser first held in 1910, now built around free family stalls, a fancy-dress parade led by the Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band and a crowned carnival queen, run free of charge by a voluntary Castletown Festival committee.
Castletown Square fills with paper confetti and a fancy-dress parade each summer for the town's Confetti Carnival, a tradition traced back to a market-square carnival held on 21 July 1910 in aid of Castletown Football Club.
